In part 1 of this article, I showed you how to come up with an idea for your ebook and find out if it would be profitable.
Like I said in article 1, there is no use in creating an ebook for sale that no body wants or there is no market for it. While you might have a hobby you love, it might not be the most profitable market to tap into and in part one of this article series I showed you how not only to come up with an ebook title idea, but how to make sure it will be profitable for you, not only in the short term but in the long term as well.
In part 2 of this series of 4 articles, I covered the best way to write your ebook yourself or how to get someone to write it for you, cheaply.
In part 3 I talked about creating and compiling your ebook into a PDF document, how to setup your website with sales letter and how to take orders for your ebook.
In this part, part 4, I'm going to show you how to advertise your ebook for maximum profit but on a minimum of a budget. In this part of the article series I'm going to show explain to you:
Affiliate programs allow merchants, (which is you) the chance to get other people (affiliates) to sell your products for you for a percentage of the sale. These people will advertise your product at no cost to you, until they make a sale, where you then give them a cut of the sale. None of this technical stuff you have to worry about as Clickbank takes care of all that mess.
So let's say you sell a book on how to improve your golfing game on the Internet and you've exhausted your pool of advertising sources and you need fresh leads. The best way to go about this would be to start your own affiliate program and pay people a percentage of the sale.
For example, if your book is selling for $47, don't be afraid to give people 50 to 60% of the profits of each sale. Why?
Because it's costing you nothing in advertising and you get to keep the customer for life. So imagine if you then had another product for sale for $97, you could then advertise this product to your existing customer base and it would cost you nothing.
Affiliate programs are great for the merchant (product owner) because it's risk free. You only pay your affiliates when they get their leads to perform an action (IE, buy something from you) so it costs you nothing. Of course if you have physically create and ship your product, those would be your only costs, and even now that can be avoided by going solely online.
The next step before you start recruiting affiliates to promote your products is to create an attractive affiliate tool kit. An affiliate tool kit is pretty much a page with a bunch of promotional material that affiliates can use to promote your ebook.
Affiliates like to know they don't have to create all the promotional material themselves just to promote your product. It's just easy for them to use something you've pre made for them and then they can change it around a bit.
Want to know what a real pro puts in an affiliate tool kit? Have a look at Marlon Sanders Hitsncash. No one expects you to offer something like this for your first ebook, but if you want to do it really well, this is a good example of how.
Now comes the tough part, trying to recruit affiliates to promote your product. There are two steps to this:
When it comes to finding affiliates to promote your ebook, you should try and remember that not all affiliates are created equal. Some will give you a lot of sales, some will make very few sales for you.
There is a rule that states that 5% of your affiliate force will bring in 95% of your sales and that's just about right.
The best way I know of to find active affiliates is to put the topic of your ebook into Google.com and see who is advertising products in the same market as you with Google Ads. You know these affiliates are active because they are willing to spend money to make money.
Let's say for example that you are selling an ebook on tropical fish. I would put the term tropical fish into Google and see what, if any people are promoting products using Google Ads for that term. You will more then likely find a few affiliates promoting an ebook already on that topic. This is not a bad thing.
These are the people you want to contact. These are more then likely the super affiliates I was talking about.
What you then want to do is contact these affiliates and see if they will promote your product instead of the one they are already promoting, or even promote both of them. You need to be able to convince these affiliates that they will make more money with your affiliate program then the one they are promoting now.
Basically, you need to bribe them. Offer them more commission, offer them more money per sale, offer them customized affiliate tool kits, offer them anything you can.
Show them statistics of how well your website converts prospects into buyers. Affiliates want to know they are going to be rewarded for their hard work. They are spending money to sell your product and they want to know it's going to be worth their time and money to do so.
So there you have it, you've completed all the steps to setting up your own ebook online and recruiting affiliates!
Good luck and good fortune!
