How to create your own profitable ebook in days

I've been creating and writing Ebooks for over 6 years now and it is one of the most lucrative businesses on the Internet right now.

If you can type, you can write an Ebook. In this article I'm going to show you how to create your own Ebook in days and have it selling well by the end of the week. So let's get started.

Coming up with an idea for your Ebook

This is where a lot of people get stuck. They are not sure what they want to write an Ebook about. They are also not sure what they can actually write about, if they can do it and if it will sell.

A lot of people will tell you the best way to create an Ebook is to write about something you know and are passionate about, and that's good advice if the topic you know is in demand and profitable, if not you will have a good book that no one wants to read.

I prefer to write about topics I may not have a passion for or know a lot about, but I know have a market that wants what I'm writing.

The best way to find a hot market that's ready to be sold to is as follows.

#1 -- Come up with a topic

The best way to get an idea for an Ebook is to see what's already out there. Go to Clickbank.com/marketplace/ and see all the Ebooks that are being sold there. You should be able to find tons of Ebooks you would be interested in researching and writing about.

Another way is to look at magazine titles. Go to an online magazine store like Amazon.com and see what the best selling magazines are. You know a market is profitable if a magazine is written on it as a magazine costs a lot of money to print.

Go to your local news agency and have a look at all the magazines you wouldn't usually look at and you will get thousands of ideas. There are magazines on some really obscure topics that would make a great idea for a profitable Ebook.

#2 -- Find out how many people search for that topic

The next step when you have a rough idea what you would like to write about is to find out if enough people search for that topic on the Internet to make it viable to write about.

While you do want a niche market to work in, you don't want a market so obscure only 10 people a month are searching for your Ebook.

The best way to find out how many searches a topic gets per month is to go to Nichebot.com and check for your self. Nichebot allows you to put in a search term or topic of choice and see how many searches it gets in a given time. This is a really handy tool.

It also gives you other keywords related to your topic that might be of use to you as well.

How many searches should a topic get before you give it the go ahead is hard to say. If Nichebot says your search term gets a few thousands searches in a given time, then I would be happy with that.

#3 -- Find out if you have competition

A lot of people think if a market has no competition it's a great market to be in. Not true at all. It's the total opposite. If you find that your topic has no competitors selling similar products, you are in for a long hard road my friend.

Every market has been thought of; every one has tried to market a product to just about every market out there. If you find that your market has no products competing with yours, it's because people have tried to sell to this market and failed.

Competition means a market is viable; otherwise people wouldn't bother selling to that market and wasting valuable money on advertising.

So how can you find out if a market has competitors? Easy! Google.com.

Type in your topic or main key phrase that relates to your Ebook into Google.com and have a look at the ads above the search results and beside the search results. If you see a bunch of people selling products or even information products, you might just have a winner.

#4 -- Find out if you can easily reach your customers

This is the final step in finding your niche market and it's vitally important. If you find a great niche market, but cannot get to your customers easily and without spending a fortune, you're in for a lot of hard work.

There is no use in spending a fortune in advertising when first starting out online. So what do you need to know to see if you can reach your customers?

You need to know whether or not you can:

  • Find joint venture partners willing to help promote your book for a percentage of the profits.
  • If you can buy advertising on Google Adwords and Overture.com for a good price.
  • If you can find forums where people hang out and talk about your topic.
  • If you can find online newsletter to advertise in, in your niche market.

If you can find all of those things, you are more then likely on a winner.

I'm going to cheat a little and help you out and tell you a profitable Ebook topic I was going to write on; Bird watching.

In part 2 of this article, I show you how to create your Ebook quickly, and how to get up and selling in hours.
