What is the difference between dedicated and semi-dedicated server?

If you sign up for some of our dedicated server plans you will enjoy the full root access. Full root access allows to install your own applications on the server. You can also use it to sell a webspace to your clients and run your own web hosting business. On the other hand, it also requires some knowledge how to manage the server. If you have no experience with managing a server, you can use our managed services or choose semi-dedicated server instead.

Semi-dedicated server works in the same way as the shared web hosting from the customer's point of view. You will not see any difference - you simply use the control panel to manage your website in the same way as the shared hosting users do. You will not need to care about the server management at all. But in contradistinction to the shared hosting you can use many times more CPU resources and RAM. This makes it possible to run exceptionally resources heavy scripts or websites with millions of page views a day.
